Youth Reintegration Academy

A free-program designed specifically for justice-involved youth that meets them where they are,

builds their identity as scholars, and gives them the navigational tools to access the educational, professional, and leadership opportunities

that belong to them.

This summer, Youth RA is hitting the road. Starting July 23rd, participants will depart Los Angeles for a four-day road trip and residential camp experience with stops along the way at college campuses, national parks, and spaces designed to expand what feels possible.

The camp is free to attend and open to justice-involved young people ages 18–24 in Los Angeles County. Participants receive a free laptop, a paid stipend, and merch upon completion. Spots are limited.

Youth RA Camp

A 3-day residential program focusing on financial literacy, career exploration, and goal-setting. Participants receive a free laptop and stipend upon completion.

Youth RA College Tour

College campus  visits and introductions to direct support networks like Rising Scholars (Community College), Project Rebound (CSU), and Underground Scholars (UC).

Youth RA Summit

Exclusive to YRA alumni. Selected cohorts  share their experiences and build on their leadership qualities. The inaugural 2025 cohort visted the Olomana Juvenile facility in Hawaii.

About the
Prison Education Project

Since 2011, the Prison Education Project has served over 15,000 incarcerated and system-impacted individuals across 60+ correctional facilities in California and beyond, through in-custody programming, reentry support, and aftercare services. PEP operates with over 300 university student and faculty volunteers each year and is the largest volunteer-based prison education program of its kind.
